Reham Khan Book
Imran Khan’s ex-wife, Reham Khan book, that doesn’t have a title yet, that no one has read yet, but everyone including the media and the politicians do know how to perceive and criticize. Isn’t it right? But, Reham Ms Khan’s alleged claims are also shocking, ng to say the least.
The elections period in Pakistan does not lack any drama and this time the controversies and finger-pointing have already started. This unique saga involves the ex-wife of none other than Imran Khan. He was married to Reham Khan from January 2015 to October 2015. In this turbulent time, where masses are raving about elections and representatives, she has decided to launch her autobiography. The book contents are appalling and scandalous against some prominent figures. She separated from Imran Khan three years ago and now, her book is nothing short of a recipe for disaster.
Reham Khan has come under scathing critique for the recently revealed manuscript of her biography. This whole storm started back when Hamza Ali Abbasi declared on twitter his snide comments about it.
Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf is having none of it. They have wasted no time in calling her out on wrongful allegations. This whole saga is a vile agenda against their leader by PML-N, who have nothing left in their arsenal other than false claims to hurt his election campaign, especially when they themselves are crumbling under the weight of the consequences of their corruption which has just been recently brought to light. Some also claim that she was sponsored GBP 100,000 to write such a book by PML-N.
The people that have allegedly come under unfair and biased scrutiny include one of the best cricketers of the world Wasim Akram, Reham Khan’s first husband Ijaz Rehman, Zulfikar Bukhari, PTI International Media Coordinator Anila Khawaja and Imran Khan. The former four have officially filed a legal notice against the British citizen. They have also claimed that they have anonymously received a 600 page manuscript of her autobiography.
Mr Fawad Chaudhry has requested Election Commission to consider the book as an element of pre-poll rigging. Pakistan Electronic Media Regulatory Authority (Pemra) has also been asked by PTI’s Information Secretary to disallow televising of talk shows, that are providing fuel to fire, by gossiping about hypothetical facts and allegations.
Launching the book just two weeks before elections makes it hard to believe that, other than slinging mud on Imran Khan or profiting off the controversy, she has any other motives. The Raiwind network is infamous for running sketchy campaigns to defame their rivals. In 1980 and 1990, Benazir Bhutto and her mother were their prime targets and in 1996 they aimed at Imran with Sita White Incident.
Some of Ms Reham’s recent ventures have also tipped people about her involvement with PML-N in materializing this book. Her photographs with their former MNA Hanif Abbasi and meetings with former US Ambassador Hussain Haqqani speak otherwise. Some of her dubious email exchange has also surfaced with former Interior Minister Ahsan Iqbal.
The Legal Side
Multan’s civil court had also issued a restraining order against Reham Khan book, directing her to submit a reply by June 9th. The statement of the plea labels her book contents as maligning and facts cooked-up by the author. Reham Khan has to meet the claimant’s conditions within 14 days. The conditions are as follows
- Agreement to not publish the manuscript in its current condition.
- Provide sources of her manuscript content.
- Provide details on the excerpts.
- An undertaking to not produce any kind of false and untrue material against the claimants.
On the flip side of things, are the author’s statements, which are unsurprisingly not striking a chord with the majority of masses. She has denied all the claims against her and stated that the book revolves around her life story, experiences with distinguished people and relationships. She has also denied the claims, that she received funds from Shahbaz Sharif, or had any meetings with Maryam Nawaz. As of yet, she has also refused to talk about the contents of her book.
The masses are not kind to Reham as they changed her profession from journalist to ‘Nalaiq’ on Wikipedia. Reham and Hamza’s heated twitter feud followed up with legal notices towards each other. Reham has accused the actor of spreading misleading statements and exchanges about her. She has also accused him of producing information which he had obtained after hacking into her email account. The notice demands a genuine apology from Hamza Ali within 14 days or the avid PTI supporter will be facing a defamation lawsuit of five billion rupees. Hamza, on the other hand, has also set a legal notice on its way to Reham for slandering remarks against him.
